- * Dirt Roads Leave Town Vulnerable to Lawsuits.
Planning Board Chair Beaumont Has Concerns about Vernal PoolsAs the name implies, vernal pools appear in the spring and generally dry up by late summer, only to reappear again the following spring. They are a major part of the natural web of life, and have been recognized by experts in the field as providing breeding sites and nutrients for a wide variety of living things.
All wetlands are not vernal pools, but all vernal pools are wetlands; therefore, they are included in, and regulated by, many land-use ordinances throughout the country.
