Village Trustees Start Comprehensive Plan Off Right
February 13, 2008
In this primary season, citizens clearly want their voices to be heard and are flocking to the polls in record numbers. No one wants “party insiders” to choose the nominees. Similarly, the residents of Millbrook clearly want a strong say in the drafting of the village’s new Comprehensive Plan, the community’s vision for the future. The trustees of Millbrook wisely recognize this fact and have scheduled a series of meetings for residents to express their vision of Millbrook for the decades to come.
Citizens from all the professions and across the political spectrum have attended these meetings to offer their opinions. Trustees have listened and recorded all suggestions and concerns. Please thank your board for their openness to your ideas and input.
According to the Pace Law School Land Use Center, “Local citizens should participate to the greatest extent possible in forming and implementing the Comprehensive Plan. Surveys and polls, town meetings, charrettes, and focused workshops are some of the many techniques available to draw citizens into the process.” Our village board is doing its best to get you involved.
Please do plan to attend the next public forum.
